Custom Furniture: Drawings, Joinery, and Installation Standards

PMC Custom Furniture covers storage, seating, beds, tables, and loose units from approved shop drawings to handover. Scope includes material selection, hardware specification, fabrication, and site installation. Work proceeds against approved drawings with hold points at substrate, dry fit, and final install. Alignment tolerance ±2 mm. Shutter gap 3 mm. Defects liability 12 months.

Each item is sized to room, circulation, and user data. Carcass in 18 mm BWP plywood. Shutters with 1.0 mm to 1.5 mm laminate or veneer on 18 mm substrate. Edge band 2 mm. Drawer loads rated 30 kg for light use, 50 kg for standard, 70 kg for pantry and kitchen. All items documented in the approved itemised scope with quantities and rates. Handover occurs after snag closure, operation tests, and warranty documents are issued.

Site Measure and Brief

Site measured for wall to wall and floor to ceiling. Openings, skirting, and service points recorded. User height and reach noted. Load requirement listed. Shop drawing set initiated with overall sizes and clearances. Layout and itemised scope with quantities and rates approved before fabrication.

Shop Drawings and Samples

Drawings issued at 1:10 for details and 1:20 for elevations. Jointing, hardware, and section details included. Material sample board signed off. Mock-up for finish and edge completed. Cut list and hardware schedule frozen. No fabrication before approvals.

Fabrication and Quality Check

Carcass cut on panel saw. Edge banding 2 mm with hotmelt. Hinge cups 35 mm drilled with jig. Drawer sides 14 mm with bottom 9 mm. Channels tested to 50,000 cycles. Pre assembly at factory. Flatness checked. Shutter gap 3 mm set on jig. Moisture content 10 percent to 12 percent verified.

Delivery and Installation

Site protected before delivery. Units installed on levelled base with packers. Fixing to wall with 75 mm screws and plugs at 600 mm centres. Alignment ±2 mm checked with laser. Drawer and shutter operation 25 cycles tested. Snag closure with client sign-off. As-built drawings and warranties issued.

Custom furniture scope includes labour, materials, and management to deliver approved drawings to installed condition. Items not listed in the approved itemised scope with quantities and rates are excluded. All hardware and finishes are backed by test data or manufacturer data sheets.

01. Storage Units

Wardrobes depth 600 mm for hangers, 450 mm for shelves. Base units 560 mm deep. Wall units 350 mm deep. Shelf load 40 kg per metre. Drawer load 30 kg to 70 kg per function.

02. Living Units

TV unit length 1800 mm to 3000 mm. Depth 400 mm to 500 mm. Bench seating 450 mm height. Coffee table 400 mm to 450 mm height. Edge radius 2 mm for safety.

03. Kitchen Units

Base carcass 18 mm BWP. Shutters 1.0 mm laminate. Drawers 500 mm deep. Tandem channels 30 kg, 50 kg, 70 kg. Pull out pantry 200 mm to 300 mm wide. Plinth 100 mm.

04. Bedroom Units

Bed base height 450 mm. Headboard 1100 mm to 1200 mm. Side table 500 mm width, 400 mm depth, 600 mm height. Hydraulic lift rated 80 kg per side. Shutter gap 3 mm.

05. Study and Work

Desk width 1200 mm to 1800 mm. Depth 600 mm. Height 750 mm. Chair clearance 900 mm behind. Cable grommet 60 mm. Modesty panel 300 mm. Drawer pedestal 400 mm wide.

06. Finishes and Hardware

Laminate 1.0 mm. Acrylic 1.5 mm. Veneer with PU or melamine coat. Edge band 2 mm. Hinges 200,000 cycle. Channels 50,000 cycle. Handles tested to 25 kg pull. Soft close on all.
