Interior Planning: Layout, Services, and Furniture Freeze

PMC Interior Planning covers layout, circulation, service routing, and furniture fit before any site work. Output includes scaled floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plan, service drawings, and itemised scope with quantities and rates. No procurement or execution starts before document freeze. Tolerances defined: installation ±2 mm, substrate ±3 mm per 2 m, shutter gap 3 mm.

Planning confirms room function, user height, storage volume, and clearances. Passage 1000 mm minimum. Work aisles 1100 mm minimum. Bed clearance 600 mm on three sides. Desk clearance 900 mm behind chair. Wardrobe depth 600 mm for hangers. All decisions locked with client sign-off and revision control by date and number.

Brief and Site Record

Room wise requirement list prepared with headcount, storage list, and appliance list. Site measured and checked for squareness. Out of plumb or level beyond ±10 mm flagged. Existing service locations marked. Base drawings prepared at 1:50 scale.

Layout and Circulation

Options prepared with clearances: primary circulation 1200 mm, secondary 900 mm. Door swings 900 mm minimum. Work triangle 1200 mm to 2700 mm per leg. Furniture sized to supplier data. Clash check between joinery, services, and doors completed.

Services and Finishes

Electrical points, data, AC, and plumbing marked on plan with heights: switch 1200 mm, socket 450 mm, bedside 450 mm, kitchen counter 1050 mm. Lighting levels set: ambient 150 lux, task 400 lux to 500 lux. Material palette with thickness and make fixed. Sample board signed off.

Documentation and Freeze

Issued set includes layout, elevations, reflected ceiling plan, service plans, joinery details, and itemised scope with quantities and rates. Revision log maintained. Document freeze recorded with client sign-off. Hold point released only after freeze.

Furniture plan at 1:50 with dimensions. Clearances marked: bed 600 mm three sides, desk chair 900 mm behind, wardrobe face 900 mm passage. Door swing and window access shown.

Design Direction

02. Elevations and Joinery

Key wall elevations at 1:25. Wardrobe internal with shelf heights 400 mm and hanging 1200 mm. Kitchen units with plinth 100 mm. Shutter gap 3 mm noted. Hardware schedule included.

Material Selection

03. Material Schedule

Finishes listed with thickness and make: plywood 18 mm BWP, laminate 1.0 mm, acrylic 1.5 mm, quartz 20 mm. Floor and wall finishes with slip rating and abrasion class.

Furniture Planning

04. Furniture Schedule

Loose and fixed furniture list with sizes. Bed 1800 mm by 2000 mm or 1500 mm by 2000 mm. Sofa depth 900 mm. Dining table 750 mm height. Clearance around each item shown.

Lighting Plan

05. Services and Lighting

Reflected ceiling plan with fixture types and cutout size. Switch and socket plan with heights. Lux levels: ambient 150 lux, task 400 lux to 500 lux. Circuit plan with load.

Final Plan Setup

06. Issue Set and Freeze

Final issue set with revision log. Itemised scope with quantities and rates. Sample board with client sign-off. Document freeze letter issued. Hold point released for execution.
